Dear Subscriber First Name, A lot of the parenting strategies I teach today were shaped by raising my own two children. Parenting them has reminded me—again and again—that children come into the world as their own unique selves. Our job isn’t to mold them, but to support them. And yet, at the same time, who we are as parents—what we model, what we prioritize, how we show up—absolutely shapes them too. One moment that really brought this to life for me was when my oldest was about six. He had a school project where he had to share something special about our family. He chose a favorite recipe and talked about how much we love hosting dinner parties. It was such a meaningful moment—something I deeply value, like gathering people around a table and creating a warm, welcoming space, had clearly become important to him too. Over the years, we’ve become “that house” where friends know they’re always welcome, and now both of my boys instinctively offer snacks, drinks, and are great hosts! That realization is what inspired me to create the Values-Centered Parenting (VCP) tool that I teach in every class! I’m excited to share a brand-new workbook I’ve created to help you bring the Values-Centered Parenting (VCP) tool into your everyday life. This tool has been the heart of my work for many years, and I’ve had the privilege of using it with hundreds—if not thousands—of families in my classes. While parenting styles and strategies may shift over time, the heart of parenting stays the same: we all parent through the lens of what matters most to us—our core values.
